ARC International plc forged new partnerships with companies for storage solutions.
ARC, which licenses consumer intellectual property (IP) in the form of multimedia subsystems and related technologies to semiconductor and OEM companies worldwide, has signed a licensing agreement with Taiwan fablesss IC company TM Technology Inc. A subsidiary of Etron Technology Inc., TM Technology will use its ARC license to create a SoC for multimedia storage applications.
Separately, ARC announced that an unnamed customer has adopted ARC for use in the rapidly growing flash market. This company chose ARC to leverage the energy efficiency of ARC’s solutions.
Bill Jackson, ARC’s VP of marketing commented, "ARC’s IP technology enables flash manufacturers to create more sophisticated, feature-rich products without impact on size or power consumption."
According to Semico Research, ARC has more than 30 percent market share in the flash market that is projected to reach over $19 billion.
