Boasting a history of almost 40 years, Vinitaly is the most prestigious annual gathering of the global wine making industry.

Over a show area of 80,050 square metres net, Vinitaly 2006 (the 40th edition of the event) sees active participation of 4104 exhibitors, from 31 countries. 140,000 trade visitors come from 93 countries to visit the grand event, 30,000 of which are overseas visitors.

Vinitaly China 2006 is scheduled 23-25 November in Shanghai - one of the areas enjoying the highest development rates in the world - where the Authority returns after similar editions in 1998 and 2002 (the others were held in 1999, 2000 and 2001 in Peking). The exhibition will be a major showcase proposing wine tastings, workshops for operators and full-scale "laboratories" to promote among Chinese consumers the most appropriate matches between their own typical dishes and Italian wine.

Previous Fair Information:

Over 160 exhibitors from the important wine producing regions such as Piedmont, Veneto, Campania or Lombardy;
3236 trade visitors from 12 countries;

7 educational seminars, together with wine tastings and food and wine matching, presented by famous Italian and international experts in the industry, such as Mr. Massimo Billetto, an Italian TV personality as well as wine expert and Mr. Lau Chi Sun of Wine Now magazine, widely renown for his knowledge of wines. Among the "superstar" tastings are a tasting of Gaja wines conducted by Mr. Gaja himself. Campania region organizes a food matching with dishes prepared by prestigious restaurant with products and wines from the Campania region;

5 wine-maker's dinner hosted respectively by Consorzio del Brachetto, Gaja, Veronafiere, Istituto Grandi Marchi and Brunello di Montalcino;

Intensive coverage by over 108 trade and public media.
