Premiere in China’s winter sport metropolis: ispo china winter 07 in Peking
Ispo china winter 07 takes place on 14 - 17 March 2007 in Peking for the first time. The reason for this decision is the stronger orientation of the fair towards winter sports: with the new venue, ispo china is moving even closer to the big skiing areas and main tourist centres as well as the home of many Chinese key retailers and a multitude of international brands with headquarters in and around Peking. At present, over 3,000 sq.m. of exhibition space has already been sold and a total of 13,500 sq.m. is reserved at the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre in Peking. Three-year contracts have already been concluded with leading brands such as Gore, Halti, Lowe Alpine, Quiksilver, Sympatex and Toray, thus securing their long-term participation at ispo china. In addition, some of the firms now exhibiting at ispo china for the second or third time are booking substantially bigger stand areas. This shows that ispo china is becoming increasingly established as a platform for the market – and, most especially, that the companies are attributing greater importance to the Asian-Pacific market. After all, the rapidly growing Chinese market with its many and highly quality-conscious consumers recorded an increase of US$ 102 billion in business turnover in the year 2005, according to the Xinhua News Agency. This corresponds to three times the figure for the year 2004.
