The wealth of jewellery raw materials gives local manufacturers an advantage, as they can better control their production costs. That is conducive to making their products more competitive. The jewellery manufacturing and processing industry has therefore become one of the major industries in China. Some 70 percent of total jewellery production comes from Guangdong Province, where Panyu, Conghua, Huadu and Shenzhen constitute a production network.

Guangzhou has clearly been able to become an all-round jewellery city of China. Fine jewellery and raw materials suppliers can make use of Guangzhou's superiorities, together with the renowned jewellery trading platform of China International Gold, Jewellery & Gem Fair – Guangzhou, to generate sales leads and source business partners, while overseas suppliers can introduce their products to the China market via the Fair.
