New laws have been introduced to protect the Great Wall of China.

Isolated sections of the Great Wall, not normally open to tourists, have in the past been the location of rave parties, gourmet dinners and even skateboard jumping.  But no more, with new laws imposing fines of $8,000 for individuals and $80,000 for organizations to prohibit these activities.

These first nationwide laws to protect China's most famous structure also prohibit graffiti, stealing bricks and driving vehicles on top of the Great Wall.
