SFDA approved four biological drugs with independent intellectual property rights in 2006, which include Lyophilized Recombinant Human Brain Natriuretic Peptide, Iodine[131I] Metuximab Injection, Recombinant Human Endostatin(Endostar), Recombinant Human Adenovirus Type 5 Injection. All these indicate Chinese R&D way of biological drugs has changed from imitation to innovation.
According to Report on the Development of Pharmacy (2006~2007), last updated on November 10th, 2007, there are 92 biological drugs applied by domestic enterprise in 101 biological drugs submited to SFDA. There are 68 injections (including 37 interferonas ) in 92 biological drugs. Biological drugs applied by foreign enterprise mostly are recombinant cell drugs.
