CHINA International Capital Corp, in which Morgan Stanley has 34 percent, posted an almost threefold jump in profit in the first half as earnings from record share sales surged.
CICC, as the nation's biggest investment bank is known, had net income of 461.4 million yuan (US$61 million) in the six months to June 30, from 172.8 million yuan a year earlier, documents given to Bloomberg News show. CICC's Beijing-based spokeswoman Tracy Hu couldn't immediately confirm the figures, which matched those reported by Shanghai Securities News yesterday.
