CHINA'S rail passenger transport volume reached 1.033 billion person-trips in the first nine months of this year, up 7.3 percent from the same period last year, the Ministry of Railways said on Saturday.

The ministry said in a report that railway freight transport volume increased 9.5 percent to 2.318 billion tons during the period.
