CITI China is keen to team up with insurers to better its wealth management portfolio, a senior executive of the bank said yesterday.
Citi is open to joining hands with qualified insurance companies on bancassurance products to meet client demand, Anand Selvakesari, executive vice president of Citibank (China) Co said yesterday. The alliance is open to overseas or domestic insurers, he said.
Citi has already a smooth alliance with United MetLife Insurance Co. The two yesterday launched an investment-link insurance plan for the children of Citi's clients as the first such products from an overseas bank.
The cooperation is a follow-up after their investment-link products launched in April got a warm reception - with premiums topping more than one billion yuan (US$133 million).
