State Bank of India, the largest commercial bank in India, will set up a branch in the northeastern Chinese city of Tianjin, the bank's China CEO, C.R. Sasikumar, told reporters on the sidelines of a banking forum here.
The bank has submitted its plans to the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) for approval.
State Bank of India was the first bank from that country to start commercial operations in China. It currently has a branch in Shanghai.
