Sales rise 40% during Labor Day - ResearchInChina

SUNING Appliance Co's same-store sales grew 40 percent during the Labor Day holiday from a year earlier.

As the golden week holiday was shortened from seven days to three days from this year, Suning's sales peak occurred last Thursday and Friday. Mobile phones, digital and IT products were the most favored purchases for customers and computer sales surged 200 percent on a yearly basis, the country's leading appliance retailer said yesterday.

Forty percent of the retailer's large-sized stores handled 60 percent of its total sales, with the flagship store on Changning Road boasting a 50-percent sales growth in the period.
