Electrophoretic display (EPD) maker Prime View International (PVI) is currently sampling its color e-paper to clients and expects products to hit the market by the end of 2010, according to company chairman Scott Liu.

PVI also expects its e-book reader shipments to increase significantly in the third quarter of 2010 as many vendors plan to launch new models in the third quarter. Amid such expected strong demand in the third quarter, PVI expects to complete validation with its clients and start using TFT-LCD back-panel from Chimei Innolux's (CMI) 5G plant in June-July, Liu said.

The company is very optimistic regarding the growth of China e-book reader market and expects China to account for 20% of the global e-book reader market in 2010, Liu noted.
