Gome (0493.HK) has released the first customized mobile phones, computers and phone chargers as part of a five-year "custom manufactured" products trial, Beijing Times reported citing Gome Chairman Chen Xiao June 25.

Gome will keep and analyze records of its 40 million member customers as well as conducting R&D with up-stream manufacturers to make products that better fit customer needs, said vice chairman Mou Guixian.

Chen said that while current sales of large home appliance such as refrigerators and air-conditioners, account for about 60% of the total sales, Gome expects to increase sales of smaller home appliance to over 50% of the total over the next five years, according to the report. Chen also revealed Gome will increase investment in e-commerce over the next five years.
