Taiwan-based digital camera makers Ability and Asia Optical both began production of inexpensive digital video (DV) camcorders earlier in 2010 and expect shipments to increase in 2011, according to industry sources in Taiwan.

Ability has received orders from Japan-based clients, while Asia Optical has landed orders from Eastman Kodak, the sources indicated.
