Robert Tsao and John Hsuan, the former chairman and vice chairman of United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), have both been found not guilty of illegal investment in China-based Hejian Technology, the Taiwan High Court ruled in the case retrial on September 14, according to a report from Taiwan's state-run Central News Agency (CNA). Prosecutors are still allowed to appeal the decision.
The high court previously found the pair not guilty of the charges, but was ordered by the Supreme Court to reopen the case.
