Touch panel IC designer Elan Microelectronics expects to see revenues in September 2010 bounce back to better than the level of August, buoyed by a ramp-up in orders from both the notebook and consumer electronics sectors, according to the company.

Elan also announced its revenues for the third quarter are now expected to remain flat on quarter. Its prior guidance was for a 5% sequential drop.

In addition, Elan revealed it has offered several multi-touch solutions for tablet PCs with the chips currently in the design-in stage with customers. The company expects shipments of touch panel ICs for tablets to climb substantially in 2011.

Elan posted revenues of NT$578 million in August, down 1.5% on month. It accumulated NT$4.12 billion in revenues from January to August, up 44.3% from the same period of 2009.
