ADB unveils STB Virtual Gateway platform - ResearchInChina

Set-top box vendor Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) has ventured into the digital home market unveiling its 'Virtual Gateway' STB platform at the ongoing IBC 2010 trade fair. Using an STB at its core, the Virtual Gateway can also manage TVs, hard drives, NAS, games consoles, PCs and mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs.

Based on the open multimedia home platform (MHP), ADB can strengthen its cooperation with application developers to provide more application services to Pay TV subscribers through the Virtual Gateway, the company noted.
