PCB supplier Unitech Printed Circuit Board has indicated that demand for smartphone-use PCBs has been strong since the third quarter of 2010. Revenues for September are likely to grow over 15% on month, and will continue to rise sequentially through November, according to the company.
Orders received in September climbed 10-15% from those received in August, said Unitech. Meanwhile, several orders that were postponed from the previous month will contribute about NT$20 million (US$637,000) to Unitech's September sales, the company indicated.
Unitech expects sales generated from its PCB unit to climb 30% sequentially in the third quarter. Judging from the current order status, the revenues for the fourth quarter are likely to grow at a single-digit rate on quarter, the company added.
In addition, Unitech noted it has seen monthly sales generated from Unitech Solar top NT$140 million. The solar cell unit is estimated to generate NT$140-150 million in September.
Market watchers expect Unitech's third-quarter consolidated revenues to reach NT$3.5-3.6 billion, up about 15% from the prior quarter.
