Inventec has refuted a recent rumor circulating in China's IT market that it will move forward its schedule and start production at its newly established plants in Chongqing, China.

The rumor also noted that Inventec will start only two production lines initially to manufacture 8,000 notebooks per day, and will expand to six lines by the first quarter of 2011 with monthly capacity to reach one million units and 70% of component purchasing will done locally.

However, the company pointed out that the schedule has already been postponed to the second quarter of 2011 due to heavy rainfall in July-August causing delays in construction.
