Commenting on a report that stated Foxconn International Holding (FIH) has recently postponed its investment for establishing a new handset plant in Vietnam, FIH spokesperson pointed out that the company has already set up a branch company in Vietnam, but the schedule for establishing the new plant is currently still not clear.
FIH originally planned to establish a handset manufacturing plant in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam in the second half of 2010 with an annual capacity of 80-90 million units, but the company has recently been discovered to have submitted an application for postponing the plan to the local government.
The spokesperson also pointed out that the company will focus their handset production at plants in China's Langfang, Tianjin and Beijing, as well as India.
