Amid strong demand for touch screen handsets, revenues and shipments of touch panel makers are expected to continue to increase in the fourth quarter of 2010, with both J Touch and Young Fast Optoelectronics expecting strong shipments to last until November.
Touch panel suppliers such as Young Fast were able to continue to set new monthly records for revenues amid surging popularity for smartphones, as well as increasing market share of handset vendors such as HTC. Although Young Fast was conservative and expects shipments to peak in October, demand from handset vendors remains strong, and Young Fast may see its November revenues remain flat at the peak level from October. Young Fast is also expected to see record quarterly revenues in the fourth quarter amid strong performance in October-November.
With shipments for handsets remaining high in October, Young Fast's revenues are expected to reach about NT$2 billion, and remain at the same level in November. Shipments are expected to start dropping in December.
Young Fast declined to comment on market estimates of its performance during the silent period before its investors conference scheduled for October 26.
