Backlight unit (BLU) maker Forhouse has reported NT$392 million (US$12.79 million) or NT$0.89 a share in net profit for the third quarter of 2010 compared with NT$386 million in the previous quarter. Consolidated revenues during the period increased 3% to NT$6.786 billion. Consolidated revenues from January through September totaled NT$18.818 billion, and net profit came to NT$981 million or NT$2.29 a share.
Forhouse's merger with Nano Electro-Optronics Technology (Nano-Op) did not yield positive results as expected. Its September consolidated revenues fell 5.29% on month but were up 9.18% on year to NT$2.194 billion. Forhouse expects flat growth for October revenues and is conservative about the fourth quarter.
The company also pointed out that its investments in subsidiary Full Luck Precisions, which is based in Wujiang of China's Jiangsu Province, will increase from US$4.8 million to US$5.6 million, raising its equity interest from 60% to 70%.
After its merger with Nano-Op, Forhouse is now Taiwan's third largest BLU maker. The top two players, Coretronic and Radiant Opto-Electronics, posted consolidated revenues for NT$25.903 billion and NT$12.36 billion, respectively for the third quarter.
