Intel CEO Paul Otellini will arrive in Taiwan in early morning on October 28, then meet with Taiwan-based partners in the morning, hold a press conference including signing cooperation MOUs and may meet with President Ma Ying-jeou in the afternoon, and leave Taiwan in the evening, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
Intel Taiwan only confirmed the press conference scheduled for the afternoon.
The Taiwan-based partners include Acer, Asustek Computer, Quanta Computer, the sources indicated. In the press conference, Otellini is expected to sign MOUs with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the National Science Council and the Ministry of Education for cooperation in manpower training as well as with Chunghwa Telecom for cooperation in IPTV development, the sources pointed out.
Taiwan industry players hope that the alleged meeting with President Ma and Otellini does occur and that there is some fruition to the meeting.
