Taiwan-based notebook battery maker Simplo Technology expects its revenues in the fourth quarter of 210 to drop slightly by 4.04% sequentially to reach about NT$9.75 billion (US$317.05 million) due to seasonality, according to company chairman Sung Fu-Hsin.
As for its automobile-purpose battery business, Sung believes the segment will start showing some effects in 2011 with sales of NT$1-2 billion and should surge after 2012.
Simplo had revenues of NT$10.16 billion in the third quarter, up 4.17% sequentially with an EPS of NT$3.48, better than its expectations.
As for tablet PCs, Su believes that devices will become a major driver of its revenues in 2011. Tablet PCs accounted for about 20% of the company's revenues in the first three quarters of 2010 and the percentage is expected to rise to 30% in 2011.
