Solar cell maker Motech Industries has reported a NT$5 (US$0.163) EPS for the third quarter of 2010, the highest per share profit among Taiwan's publicly traded solar wafer and cell companies. The Taiwan-based company credited the positive result to strong market demand, benefits from its own wafer capacity and improvement in product efficiency. Motech sees strong demand for the first quarter of 2011, but prices have not been set.
Revenues for the third quarter totaled NT$11.7 billion, up 41% sequentially. Net income came to NT$1.777 billion on 24.3% gross margin.
