Taiwan-based fiber glass fabric makers expect their revenues to decline sequentially in the fourth quarter as demand has been weaker than expected since October, according to industry sources.

Demand for fiber glass fabrics and yarns from the upstream copper clad laminate (CCL) makers in the fourth quarter is likely lower than that recorded in the third due to declining capacity utilization rates at the CCL suppliers, the sources explained.

Fulltech Fiber Glass has reported third-quarter revenues of NT$1.21 billion (US$39.45 million), with a gross margin of 41.92% and net profits of NT$297 million. For the first three quarters of 2010, revenues totaled NT$2.78 billion, gross margin stood at 35.97% and net profits amounted to NT$568 million, or NT$2.31 per share.

Another maker Glotech Industrial saw its consolidated revenues drop 30% sequentially to NT$702 million in the third quarter, and its net profits slid 51% to NT$116 million during the same period. For the first nine months of 2010, net profits reached NT$412 million, representing an EPS of NT$2.01.
