Acer aims to ship 70 million terminal devices in 2011, increasing by 20-25% from 2010, according company CEO Gianfranco Lanci at an investors conference on October 29.
The target shipments consist of 50-55 million notebooks, netbooks and desktop PCs (including all-in-one models) and 15-20 million handheld devices, mainly smartphones and tablet PCs, Lanci indicated.
Acer released its third-quarter 2010 financial report at the meeting, with Lanci indicating that Acer expects consolidated revenues to rise by 5-10% sequentially in fourth-quarter 2010 and 10-15% in 2011. Of the expected sequential growth the fourth quarter, 3-4 percentage points will be contributed by the Founder brand in China.
