US stocks rose in early trading yesterday, the beginning of a week packed with a series of key events, as growth in China's manufacturing activity indicated strong expansion in the country's economy.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 91.88, or 0.83 percent, to 11,210.37. The Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 9.03 points, or 0.76 percent, to 1,192.29, and the Nasdaq was up 19.93 points, or 0.79 percent, to 2,527.34.
