LCD TV maker Amtran Technology has announced revenues of NT$6.12 billion (US$202.65 million) for October 2010, increasing 10.7% sequentially and 13.4% on year.
Accumulated revenues from January-October totaled NT$49.01 billion, down 5.28% on year.
The company also posted consolidated revenues for the first time of NT$7.2 billion for October, up 14.44% on year. Consolidated revenues for January-October were NT$57.77 billion, up 8.74% on year.
Amtran indicated in addition to steady growth in the North America market, shipments of Raken Technology, the joint venture of Amtran and LG Display in Suzhou, China are increasing gradually, with clients from Korea and China.
In terms of product size, shipments concentrated on 32- to 42-inch models, accounting for 74% of the total flat-panel TV shipments. Shipment share of large-size 47- and 55-inch models increased to 20% due to the launch of new models, and share of LED-backlit models was 20.21%, and 10.37% for IPTVs.
Total LCD TV shipmates, including Raken's shipments, for the first three quarters of 2010 totaled almost 3.6 million, and shipments in the third quarter exceed one million units. Shipment share of LED-backlit TVs increased to 27% in the third quarter from 10-15% in the first half of 2010. Share of 47- and 55-inch models in the third quarter was 16%. Amtran remains optimistic about TV shipments in the fourth quarter and expects to ship up to five million LCD TVs in 2010.
