Compal Electronics shipped 4.3-4.4 million notebooks and 700,000-800,000 LCD TVs in October, with the former decreasing 4.4-6.5% on month and the latter hitting a monthly record increasing 55.6-77.8% sequentially, according to the company.

The decreased notebook shipments were because a major client adjusted its inventory level and took delivery of a smaller volume, Compal indicated.

Compal expects shipments of notebooks and LCD TVs to increase to 12.3-12.9 million units and two million units, respectively, in the fourth quarter.

Compal on November 9 reported consolidated revenues of NT$77.031 billion (US$2.49 billion), dipping 4% on month but rising 2.8% on year. January-October revenues of NT$721.204 billion hiked 48.1% on year.
