In addition to 3D displays, OLED 3D displays are drawing attention at the ongoing FPD International 2010 in Makuhari, Japan, from November 10 to 12.

Korea-based vendors such as Samsung Mobile Display (SMD) and LG Display are showcasing OLED handset panels with 3D functions, while Japan-based vendors TMD and Hitachi Display are showcasing small-size handset 3D panels.

The 3D handset panels require no shutter glasses for viewing, and with the faster response times of OLED panels, which will helps to reduce shadows and possible dizziness while viewing in 3D, OLED 3D displays for handsets are expected to become popular in 2011, especially in markets with high acceptance of new technology, such as Japan and Korea.
