Spot quotes for poly-Si materials have remained high at US$80-90/kg and unit prices for solar-grade 6-inch wafers are ranging from US$3.70-3.90 currently, defying seasonal factors, according to industry sources.

Vendors of poly-Si materials and solar wafers revealed that they do not expect product prices to continue to swing up at present although demand still remains relatively strong. However, downstream solar cell makers expect prices for poly-Si materials and wafers to drift downward in the first quarter of 2011 due to off-peak season effects.

In the China market, spot quotes for poly-Si materials are currently hovering high at US$100/kg, while unit prices for 6-inch solar wafers are between US$4-4.30, the sources indicated.
