LED chip packagers saw revenues rebound in November, but flat growth to modest declines are expected for December due to clients typically looking to closely manage inventory at the end of the year.
Unity Opto Technology posted NT$560 million (US$18.586 million) in November revenues, up 1.8% sequentially and 44% on year on stronger demand for medium-to-large-size backlight applications. Cumulative revenues from January through November rose 73% from a year ago to NT$6.26 billion and already surpassed the NT$4 billion seen for the entire 2009.
Everlight Electronics turned in NT$1.331 billion in November revenues, up 6.25% on month and 18.41% on year. Revenues from January through November totaled NT$15.368 billion, a increase of 51.34% from a year ago.
Bright LED Electronics' revenues for the month climbed 12% sequentially and 8% on year to NT$437 million.
Lextar Electronics, thanks to strong orders from parent company AU Optronics, registered NT$566 million in November revenues, up 12.79% sequentially and 144.28% from a year ago. Revenues from January through November came to NT$7.398 billion, up 341% on year.
