Notebook makers Quanta Computer, Wistron and Inventec have announced revenues for November 2010 with both Quanta and Wistron seeing growth, and Inventec a decline.

Quanta announced consolidated revenues of NT$100.27 billion (US$3.32 billion) for November, a new historical high with an on-year growth of 7.48%. The revenue growth was mainly due to HP and Apple's notebook orders, which helped the company to achieve shipments of 4.9 million notebooks in the month. Although the company expects its notebook shipments will drop on month in December, its shipment growth target of 0-5% for the fourth quarter will remain unchanged.

Wistron has announced consolidated revenues of NT$53.24 billion for November, up 3.4% on year with combined consolidated revenues from the first 11 months of 2010 reaching NT$560.56 billion, up 14.2% on year.

Wistron shipped about 2.4 million notebooks in November and expects its December volume to still be around 2.35-2.4 million units to reach total shipments of 27-27.5 million units for 2010.

Wistron is optimistic about its performance in the first quarter of 2011 and expects its notebook shipments to see a double-digit percentage growth compared to shipments a year earlier.

In addition to notebooks, Wistron shipped 500,000 LCD TVs in November and shipped a total of 4.15 million units in the first 11 months of 2010 with annual shipments expected to surpass 4.5 million units. In 2011, the volume will double to above 10 million units as Japan-based vendors will outsource more orders to Taiwan makers.

Wistron shipped 700,000 LCD monitors, 900,000 handheld devices, mainly thanks to RIM's orders, 800,000 desktop PCs and 150,000 servers in November.

Inventec shipped 1.4 million notebooks in November and saw its revenues drop 9.08% on year to NT$31.05 billion. Inventec expects its notebook shipments to drop slightly on month in December; however, the company expects its shipments in 2011 to grow 25% on year to reach 20 million units.

Since Inventec's server business has started taking off due to cloud computing opportunities, the company expects its revenues from servers to reach NT$70 billion in 2010 and even higher to NT$100 billion in 2011. As for other non-notebook product lines, Inventec currently still has Nook Color orders from Barnes and Noble as well as orders for HP's tablet PC and Google's Chrome OS notebook.
