Taiwan-based network equipment maker Gemtek Technology has reported record consolidated revenues of NT$2.314 billion (US$75.6 million) for November.
Gemtek started shipping femtocells in second-half 2010 and expects to ship 400,000-500,000 units for in 2010, company CEO and president Hiward Chen told an investors conference on December 8.
Gemtek has developed several new products with shipments slated to begin in 2011, including GPON (gigabit passive optical network) IADs (integrated access devices), mobile LTE routers supporting WiMAX and HSPA, WiMAX picocells, IP STBs (set-top boxes) for connected TVs, Android MIDs (mobile Internet devices) and MeeGo home-use tablets, Chen said.
As clients for these products will be telecom carriers, the proportion of Gemtek's consolidated revenues from telecoms is expected to rise from 50% in 2010 to more than 60% in 2011, Chen indicated.
