Digital camera chassis maker AVY Precision has announced November 2010 revenues of NT$173 million (US$5.73 million), down 60.4% on month, but up 55.94% on year, with combined revenues from the first 11 months of 2010 growing 33.61% to NT$4.5 billion.

AVY expects its revenues and shipments will continue to see on-month declines in December; however, Japan-based digital camera vendors' increased orders from earlier in 2010 will still help the company achieve on-year growth of more than 30%.

For 2011, as the capacity of the company's two camera chassis plants in China are both fully-loaded, the company should be able to achieve shipments of five million units per month; meanwhile, AVY's surface treatment joint venture, in which the company has an about 49% stake , will have a good chance of landing chassis orders for iPad 2, helping the company achieve a new revenue record.

As for the DSLR camera market, AVY pointed out that since it is mainly supplying aluminum-alloy chassis for digital cameras, not aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis, which are mostly used for DSLR cameras, while the DSLR market scale is still rather small compared to that of digital cameras, the company currently does not have plans to cut into the DSLR segment for the time being.

AVY currently has most of its revenues contributed by digital camera chassis. Its largest client, Ability Enterprise accounts for 40% of revenues. Sanyo Electrics, previously the second-largest client of AVY, currently only contributes about 10% of revenues since it was acquired by Panasonic.
