Compal Electronics saw its notebook shipments decline 10% sequentially to 3.8 million units in November 2010. Market watchers attributed the decline to a delay in shipments by one of its major clients, Acer. Compal declined to comment on the remarks.
However, Compal stressed that its notebook shipments will bounce back in December, to reach over four million units, and that it will not modify its shipment guidance for the fourth quarter.
By comparison, rival Quanta Computer shipped 4.9 million notebooks in November, advancing by a gap of 1.1 million units, the largest monthly gap between the companies so far in 2010.
On the other hand, Compal shipped one million LCD monitors in November, the company's highest monthly record. The company is expected to ship 5.3-5.4 million LCD monitors in 2010, and has projected to ship 8-10 million units in 2011.
