A fire broke out at one of Iteq's factories in Taoyuan County, northern Taiwan, in the early hours of December 10. One employee was found dead, and four were injured.
Iteq said it is still evaluating the extent of damage. The fire may have affected 4% of the company's overall capacity, Iteq estimated.
Iteq produces copper-clad laminates (CCLs), a key raw material for PCBs. The company was quoted as saying in previous reports that total capacity at its facilities in Taiwan and China would reach 3.1-3.3 million square feet by year-end 2010.
Iteq's share price dropped NT$1.65, or 3.5%, to NT$44.95 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) during the morning session of December 10.
