LED chip packaging company Everlight Electronics has reportedly pushed sales of its LED backlight products to the supply chain of table PCs with shipments likely to expand several fold in the first quarter of 2011, according to industry sources.

Everlight also plans to launch a series of LED lighting products soon and looks to significant growth for the segment in 2011, said company chairman Robert Yeh.

Demand for LED TV backlight products has resumed momentum recently and is likely to peak in December, Yeh asserted.

However, Yeh noted that LED backlight products currently contribute less than 10% to Everlight's total revenues due to low gross margins for those items.
