LCD driver IC maker Sitronix expects its new product lines, including touch panel controllers and AC/DC power management ICs to grow in 2011.

The company's touch panel ICs cover projected capacitive, resistive and optical technologies that meet requirements from a wide range of customers, the company noted.

Sitronix has set up a joint venture with Compal Electronics to develop touch-control solutions for tablet PCs, and the joint venture should also contribute significantly to Sitronix's revenue growth in 2011 if shipments of tablet PCs turn out as expected, noted industry sources.

However, mono-STN and color-STN driver ICs still account for 50-55% of Sitronix's total sales, followed by LCD driver ICs at 30%, and SoC solutions at 8%.

Sitronix's December revenues are expected to hover over NT$400 million (US$13.39 million) and climb even higher in January, the sources estimated.
