Polytronics Technology has signed an agreement with US-based Littelfuse for the supply of polymer positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) products, according to the Taiwan-based circuit protection device maker. The two have extended their existing framework contract by another five years.
The contract will take effect on January 1, 2011, and end December 31, 2015, said Polytronics.
Orders placed by Littelfuse account for about 10% of Polytronics' total revenues at present, market sources have estimated.
Polytronics reported consolidated revenues of NT$104 million (US$3.48 million) for November 2010, up 28.4% on year. Consolidated sales from January through November totaled NT$1.27 billion, rising 44.8% from the same period of 2009.
Polytronics mainly produces PPTC components for motherboards and notebooks, and has stepped into making SLD/ALD PPTC resistors for use in handset lithium batteries.
