Taiwan-based notebook hinge maker Shin Zu Shing (SZS) has announced plans to establish a joint venture with its partners in Tianjin, China for manufacturing and selling metal products such as solar panel frames, aluminum-alloy-based products and anodized process products.
SZS currently accounts for a 45% share of the global notebook hinge market with the product line contributing 75% of the company's revenues. In order to reduce the product line's contribution share, SZS has been investing in various new industries hoping to reduce the percentage to 50% by 2012.
