G-Tech increases investment in Shenzhen subsidiary - ResearchInChina

Optical glass processing service provider G-Tech Optoelectronics, an affiliate of the Foxconn Group, has obtained approval from the Taiwan government to add an additional investment of US$6.8 million in its subsidiary in Shenzhen, China.

G-Tech's total investment in the Shenzhen subsidiary will reached US$10 million by the end of 2010, which will help speed up the schedule for new capacity to join production in order to fulfill market demand in 2011.

G-Tech noted that its Shenzhen subsidiary currently focuses on providing reinforced glass.

G-Tech is understood to be the main supplier for iPad capacitive touch panels. G-Tech's clients include TPK Touch Solutions, Sintek Photronics and Chimei Innolux (CMI). Due to fast market growth, G-Tech started to significantly expand its capacity including setting up its first Tainan production plant in Taiwan which started mass production at the beginning of 2010. A second Tainan plant which is currently expanding capacity. The company's expansion plans in China are mainly focused on its Shenzhen plants.
