BANK card-based transactions rose to 92.2 billion yuan (US$14 billion) on China's mainland during the three-day New Year holiday, up 44.5 percent from a year ago.

Meanwhile, overseas bank card-based transactions also rose 47 percent in the same period, said China UnionPay Co, the nation's sole bank card transaction switcher.
