WHITE goods manufacturer GD Midea Holdings Co yesterday said net profit may surge up to 100 percent to 3.8 billion yuan (US$573 million) last year because of fast expanding sales of air-conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines.

Net income could range between 2.8 billion yuan and 3.8 billion yuan for 2010, an increase of 50-100 percent from 2009, the company said in a statement.
