CCFL supplier and LED chip packaging company Wellypower Optronics saw its consolidated revenues hit a record high of NT$820 million (US$28.16 million) in December 2010. However, Wellypower is conservative about the business outlook for the first quarter of 2011 as demand for LED backlit modules is expected to slide amid off-peak season effects.

For all of 2010, the company posted revenues of NT$8.9 billion, increasing 25.4% from a year earlier.

Sales of LED products totaled NT$456 million in December, accounting for 55.62% of total revenues, followed by CCFL sales at NT$319 million (38.93%) and lighting products at NT$44.67 million (5.45%).

Fourth-quarter revenues of NT$2.39 billion were better than market expectations, and the company is likely to record a gross margin of 11-12% for the quarter, according to industry sources.
