LED packaging company Everlight Electronics has posted revenues of NT$1.3 billion (US$44.48 million) for December 2010, down slightly by 0.9% sequentially.

Revenues for the whole year totaled NT$16.67 billion, up 48.7% on year. Revenues for 2011 are forecast to increase over 30% to NT$21.6 billion due to explosive growth in TV backlighting demand and increasing share of lighting products.

The slight revenue drop in December was mainly due to inventory checks at clients. Everlight noted that demand is dropping in January and February due to the Lunar New Year holidays and it expects revenues to pick up in March when work days return to normal.

Everlight added that current order visibility is about one month, and it expects revenues in the first quarter of 2011 to maintain growth as in the same period in 2009.

Lextar Electronics saw its December revenues increase 16.6% sequentially and 85.8% on year to NT$660 million, indicating obvious continuously growing demand for TV backlighting.

Revenues for the fourth quarter of 2010 totaled NT$1.73 billion, and consolidated revenues for the year were NT$8.06 billion, up 297% on year.
