A fire broke out at a PCB plant in Dayuan, northern Taiwan operated by Compeq Manufacturing on January 8. The fire was put out quickly and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Compeq has estimated total losses from the fire at about NT$1 million (US$34,210), and the accident affected a floor area of 500 square meters. The company added it would seek outsourcing if necessary.
Compeq has recently enjoyed strong demand for handset PCBs and improved yield rates in the production of any-layer HDI boards for smartphones and other portable electronics devices.
