Taiwan recorded total export value of US$23.83 billion in December 2010, slipping 2.2% on month but rising 19.1% on year, while the corresponding total import value of US$22.23 billion also decreased 7.2% and increased 21.4% respectively, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) on January 7.
Among different categories of Taiwan-made products, electronics had the largest export value of US$6.72 billion in December, falling 0.5% on month but rising 20.5% on year.
The total export value of US$274.64 billion and total import value of US$251.40 billion for the whole year of 2010 grew from 2009 by 34.8% and 44.2% respectively.
