Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), on January 13, confirmed that a female employee at its plants in Shenzhen, China fell to her death on January 7, while a large conflict recently broke out at the company's plant in Chengdu causing injures to two employees.
Foxconn said it has already paid its condolences to the female employee's family and will provide assistance. As for the employee conflict, Foxconn pointed out that the incident was not related to work and the plants are currently operating normally.
Vendors that have experience managing IT plants in China pointed out that the atmosphere brought on by the Lunar New Year holidays can easily trigger employees' emotions. As some employees are busy preparing to return to their hometowns, disputes can easily break out, which then have a chance to turn into a conflict. With the scale of Foxconn's plants, any kind of accident can happen easily.
